The setting is 1906, New York City. An organization known as the “Black Hand” has been terrorizing the people.

Fast paced, action filled and suspense driven.

I did have to stay alert to all the cast of character, as there were a lot. It helped to have a glossary of people in the front of the book.

That aside, I thought the book was very good. It gave me a glimpse into early 1900 American history. At a time when Teddy Roosevelt was President and crime was fought without technology.

I did get a good sense of what it was like, for that I’ve given the book a five-star rating.
