My ship, USS Kitty Hawk, port of call was Hong Kong. This was during the time when the British occupied the asian city. It was one of the only ports that the Chinese people didn’t know we were there. There were over 5000 men on board the ship and when we went into a port, we flooded the places we visited. The Chinese flooded us. I remember walking up a sidewalk that was nearly twenty people across and people as far as the eye could see. I took several restaurant tours and thoroughly enjoyed myself. Many of the sailors bought items at Hong Kong.
